13 Jun Hello, London! My Picks for the Best Dessert Spots
Hello from home sweet home in Vancouver! If you’ve been following along on social media, you’ll know that I just spent the past week in one of my favourite cities: London! I was there for a two private sugar cookie decorating classes, but when I wasn’t working, I was eating copious amounts of sugar – all in the name of research. At least that’s what I’m telling myself, so let’s just go with it 😉
It definitely wasn’t a relaxing trip – I quite literally was running all over the city, ducking in and out of different bakeries – but I’m by no means complaining! I love the chaos that often comes with visiting a massive city like London. I find that I can’t sit still or relax when I know that there are so many great restaurants, neighbourhoods and shops to be explored!
Below are my top picks for cakes and cupcakes in London. All of the shops I’ve listed are not only adorable but are also well-stocked with delicious treats to satisfy your sugar fix!
Happy reading – and eating!

Peggy Porschen Cakes – 116 Ebury St, London
Oh, you knew I was going to have this place on my list! This beautiful, perfectly-pink shop offers all sorts of cakes and cupcakes (among other things), as well as an array of hot and cold beverages. My personal favourite is the Banoffee Cupcake (serious goodness) coupled with an Earl Grey Tea. The interior is equally as stunning as the exterior – truly a beautiful little shop!
Crumbs & Doilies – 1 Kingly St, London
Don’t let the size of this cozy shop fool you – the selection of cupcake flavours is great and they taste equally as good! My favourites were the Blueberry Cheesecake Cupcake and (surprisingly!) the Vegan Vanilla Cupcake, which was amazing (and coming from a butter-lover like myself, I feel as though that speaks volumes).

Cutter and Squidge – 20 Brewer St, London
This cute Soho shop has a fantastic selection of cakes to choose from! The Lemon Cheesecake Dream Cake was definitely things dreams are made of – a perfect combination of sweet and tart. Plenty of indoor seating, plus they offer afternoon tea!
Lola’s Cupcakes – 16 Berkeley Square, London
An adorable shop packed full of cupcakes! Don’t miss the Salted Caramel Cupcake – it was by far my favourite! Indoor seating is available. but sit at one of their outdoor tables for some seriously good people-watching.

Oh, this charming, retro-inspired shop made my heart skip a beat! Lots of sprinkly cupcakes to choose from, as well as cookies, bars and truffles. The Cheesecake Brownies were beyond delicious!

The Cake Parlour – 146 Arthur Rd, Wimbledon Park, London
Specializing in wedding cakes, this sweet, charming and downright beautiful little shop is a bit out of the way, but worth the drive, I promise. I stopped by around lunchtime and had two cupcakes: Red Velvet and Cookies & Cream. Both were incredibly moist and perfectly sweet!

Hummingbird Bakery – 155 Wardour Street, London
When I visited London for the first time years ago, this bakery was a quick walk from my hotel and became a regular stop before heading out for the day. Their Red Velvet cupcakes are delicious (especially that cream cheese frosting), plus their dessert selection is huge!
